HSE Team Leader

  • Monitor and audit the effectiveness of HSE on Board vessel & office compliance and the review of a marine vessel, incidents, near miss reports & safety crew training (Develop, monitor and audit inspection, maintenance and repair performance matrix, recommending benchmarks and changes to driving performance improvements.  
  • Implement changes required by all maritime regulatory agencies. Monitor marine legislative and regulatory requirements.   
  • Intervene as necessary to prevent unsafe operations or regulatory deficiencies. Keep senior management advised of any problem areas where intervention is deemed necessary.  
  • Determine underlying causes of high potential vessel incidents and advise on remedial actions. 
  • Monitor marine legislative and regulatory requirements and communicate to management and facilities changes in requirements in conjunction with the Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental Director.

  • Ensure effective vessel hazardous materials and waste management processes and procedures are available and comply with state and federal regulations. 
  • Ensure the HSE Management system is established, implemented, and maintained throughout the organization as per the HSEMS manual. 
  • Oversee the maintenance and provision of Company inspection and R&M statistics for internal analysis and continually seek new and innovative methods of improving vessel productivity, safety, and operational performance. 
  • Develop recommendations for improvement of procedures, practices, and activities directly or indirectly involved in effective execution of HSE functions by operation management also Advise and/or represent site management in all matters concerning compliance with international, federal, and state HSE regulations. 

Requirement 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering with 5 years’ experience in a relevant field/ Diploma in Engineering with 10 years’ experience in a relevant field.  Nebosh IGC/ IOSH Certified OSHAS Lead Auditor.
  • Full Knowledge of procedures related to QHSE.
  • International working experience, Middle East/Gulf exposure an advantage.

Objectives to be achieve 

  • Develop and promote the use of Risk Management techniques and methodologies to systematically and consistently identify and mitigate discrepancies to reduce the risk exposure within the fleet. 
  • Ensure Internal audits are planned and conducted to measure the effectiveness of the  HSE Management system. Ensure timely corrective action, follow up audit if required, and reviewing the implementation.
